"Services In School For Children With Special Needs: What Parents Need To Know"

This is a website that explains the services available for children with special needs and acts, such as I.D.E.A. that were established in order to protect these children's rights to an education in public schools.

"IDEA (The Individual with Disabilities Education Act)"

"Special education services are individualized to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities and are provided in the least restrictive environment." This quote caught my attention as I was researching some issues regarding the shortage of special education teachers in America. The short supply of teachers has led to schools having to hire underqualified teachers to take their place. I think this is a major problem that contradicts the mandate written in IDEA.
